Craniosacral Therapy equals self care.
Many of my clients are women. Women who are busy! Working moms who are taking care of jobs, kids, parents… trying to take care of their husbands, friendships and lastly themselves. All of that caring for everyone all the time can leave you feeling depleted with nothing left to care for yourself with.
Old habits are hard to break.
Give, give give.
One of my clients recently had this experience:
She came in totally frazzled and stressed due to complications at work. She were frustrated, worried and up against a deadline. And yet she chose to show up for herself. She didn’t cancel her appointment, she held herself accountable to her own self care, and she showed up.
Even thought it was hard.
Even though it initially increased her stress.
She chose to take care of herself first, in a moment when it felt like she needed to make work a priority.
It took a little while to settle in. To get her thoughts about work to stop churning. To shift towards reconnection to herself. But she got there. And in much quicker time than she would have been able to just a few weeks ago.
She tuned in and started to hear some body signals that she had shut out all day… like hunger and thirst (all in the name of making a deadline for a client).
By the end of the session, my client was calm, relaxed and knew she needed to eat, drink, and then go back to work. She knew it was okay to take the extra 20 minutes to nourish herself before diving back into work.
And now, she could work and problem solve more efficiently, with a clear mind.
At the end of the session she told me, that she was so much calmer, knew what she needed to do and felt sure she could meet her deadline (which she of course did).
She took time out to honor herself, to prioritize herself, to interrupt an old pattern. With that session she built a layer of trust with herself and her body.
She left feeling seen, heard, clear headed, energized and proud. The renewal of her relationship to herself felt meaningful and powerful.
Her body won’t forget that recognition. And the next time we work together, she will be able to start from a different place.
When I checked in with her the next day, she was proud of herself for doing something for herself, even thought it was hard in the moment. She was glad to be recognized for the effort she put into herself care.
Sometimes showing up for yourself is the hardest thing to do. But, it will shift your life and you will prove to yourself that you are worth it. Your relationship to yourself is THE most important of all of your relationships. When that is solid, the world will responds differently to you.
I want this for you too. We can do it together.
Imagine an hour for yourself, where you will be taken care of, listened to and held. Where you can deeply relax and calm your nervous system. A time to dialogue with your body and find out what it really needs, so you can focus your efforts there instead of trying to do everything.
I want to help you delve into a deeper relationship with yourself. Help you to understand your patterns and help you to shift what is not longer serving you. If you feel like you would like a better relationship with yourself, schedule an appointment today.
